Nottinghamshire player Georgie Boyce, 19, has her primary school PE teacher to thank for introducing her to cricket. The Nottingham-born university student says sport has changed her life by enabling her to travel the world with her friends, doing something she loves.
“I really enjoy challenging myself and meeting all kinds of different people which playing cricket at this level makes possible,” says Georgie, whose heroes are her mum, for continuously supporting her, and track and field athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, for putting women’s sport on the map.
“This SportsAid award from Alea Nottingham helps me get to all training and games around the country and allows me to have the best kit.”
Georgie is just one of the inspirational young athletes being helped by Caesars Foundation, the charitable arm of Caesars Entertainment, to fulfil their potential and bring Olympic and Paralympic medals home to Britain.
Since 1976, SportsAid has helped many of nation's most successful sportsmen and women, including Chris Hoy, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Ellie Simmonds and Bradley Wiggins.
